Wedding Dresses 2012

2012 will certainly start of with a bang in the bridal community, especially when it comes to the 2012 wedding dress designs. Modern designers just keep getting more creative in their methods, producing wedding gowns that any bride would fall in love with.

All of the details are becoming more extravagant, using several layers in different materials, intricate lace, beadwork, soft colors in pink, coral, and antique creams, large floral details, interesting neck lines, and using the word “full” to describe the skirts would be an understatement.

Just imagine a little bit of vintage design mixed in with a more modern arrangement and materials, and you’ve got yourself a 2012 wedding dress that will be of timeless elegance.

I especially like the use of lace in the neck lines, either creating an illusion neckline or just used in the details in the bodice. Lace shawls, capes, and jackets will be very popular in 2012, creating an entirely different and sophisticated look to any wedding gown.

Another new sexy way to incorporate lace into your wedding dress is in a sheer skirt layered on top of a fitted gown, such as a trumpet or mermaid style dress. This trend still shows off those curves, but gives you a little bit of sheer cover at the same time.

Crinkled materials, such as chiffon, create a very interesting and dramatic look, like the ones shown below. The great thing about this look is that you don’t have to worry so much about wrinkling your dress! The designer has already done that work for you.

For a 2012 Spring or Summer wedding, don’t count out a short wedding dress, especially if you are having a more fun and casual wedding, or having it in the heat of summer where a layered ball gown might be impractical. This also creates an opportunity to show off those amazing bridal shoes.

A lot of brides are choosing to steer a little bit more off the beaten path with a soft colored wedding dress, in antiqued colors such as dark cream or rusty coral. Just look at how amazing these gowns are. A popular choice when choosing to wear a gown with color, is to pick the rest of the your wedding color scheme in ivory and white. This will make your wedding dress stand out even more.
