What are some popular places to have a wedding?

Just because you are ready to say your vows and tie the knot doesn’t mean you have to have your wedding ceremony or reception at a church. Here is a list of popular places that make a perfect backdrop for your special day.

  • A local Vineyard, and this doesn’t mean you have to live in Napa Valley. You can find local wineries just about any where that are waiting to host your wedding day.
  • A beach! Whether you are lucky to have one near by or choose to have a destination wedding. A beach wedding theme is always romantic.
  • A park is a great choice, especially if you are having a spring or fall wedding. Not only does it provide for a convenient location for you and your wedding guests, but can also make for a wonderful outdoor wedding.
  • A Lake. A lot of them have nice locations with stunning lake views to set up for a wedding; usually a plot of land that is either owned by the city or an individual owner that uses it for weddings specifically.
  • At your home or a friend or family member’s home. If you’ve got the space to accommodate your guests, this makes for the most economical choice. It is also a comfortable and convenient place for you and your guests.
  • A city loft. Many cities have lofts that are rented out just for this reason, especially in your bigger metropolitan areas.
  • A nice restaurant. I’ve been to two weddings that were held at local, fine restaurants. Small business owners are especially accommodating, reserving the entire restaurant for your special occasion for a fee. Although, if you choose a restaurant, you will probably need to have a Sunday wedding because most restaurants will not close down their business to accommodate you on a Saturday.
  • A museum. Many museums are set up very nicely for weddings, as long as they have a kitchen for your caterers.
  • A local monument or attraction makes for a memorable setting for any wedding, such as an old schoolhouse or garden.
  • A Botanical Garden makes for a beautiful outdoor wedding. The decorations are already done for you with your natural surroundings.
